Founded in 1854, the Polytechnic Institute of NYU is a private engineering institution. The MetroTech campus is located in Downtown Brooklyn, New York. In addition to its main campus, programs are offered at sites throughout the region, including Long Island, Manhattan and Westchester. Currently around 3,000 students are enrolled at the university. The university awards bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in a range of programs. Some of the departments of study offered by the university include Chemical and Biological Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Finance and Risk Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics, Mechanical, Aerospace, Technology Management and Physics.
