Barry University first opened its doors in 1940 in Miami Shores, Florida. Apart from the main campus the university offers several continuing adult education classes at other locations. It has a campus in Orlando and a campus in Saint Petersburg. The university offers programs in adult and continuing education, arts and sciences, business, communication, education, graduate medical sciences, human performance and leisure sciences, law, natural and health sciences, nursing, psychology, social work and theology. Barry awards bachelor's and master's degrees and designs accelerated programs for working adults.
