Study abroad in Scotland

Pursuing one's education in Scotland has its own distinct charm, due in part to the scenic locales and the warmth and hospitality of the Scottish people. The system of education in Scotland has always laid a greater stress on depth of education due to which most universities in Scotland have courses which are at least one year longer than their counterparts elsewhere in the UK. However, students wishing to study in Scotland can take specialized exams and join the course at the second year level.

Typically, therefore, the first degree offered by some of the older colleges in Scotland is the Master of Arts degree (for Humanities). There are different options available for students who wish to study abroad in Scotland. Students can avail of either post graduate Master's Degree programs which are one year long intensive programs or three years advanced Research Doctoral Degrees from their University in Scotland.

Going to college in Scotland also has one distinct advantage for international students: whereas most students can apply for a work visa and stay on for another year after they complete their courses, students studying in colleges in Scotland can apply for a work visa and stay on for two years after their course completion.
