Nottingham is a vibrant city with plenty to keep its student population busy. Its compact city centre, only ten minutes away from the Nottingham campuses by bus or bike, combines heritage and history with contemporary culture. There are also plenty of Indian restaurants close by, offering authentic cuisine, to help Indian students feel at home.
The last decade has seen the city prosper, with billions of pounds of new investment having been pumped into Nottingham’s economy, transforming the cityscape. Business is booming with companies like Boots, Capital One and Powergen having located their headquarters there.
The University’s campuses are as follows:
University Park
Situated to the west of the city centre and a short bus or bike ride, the 330-acre University Park is the historic home of The University of Nottingham and its largest campus. Set around a famous lake and with extensive parkland greenery, the campus is widely regarded as one of the largest and most attractive in the country. University Park is the focus of life for around 26,000 students and features a mixture of period buildings and modern state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities, with 12 halls of residence (accommodating over 3,000 students), an award-winning library, a conference and exhibition centre, sports facilities and the Lakeside Arts Centre.
Jubilee Campus
The Jubilee Campus boasts of state-of-the-art facilities and houses the Schools of Education, Computer Science and Information Technology, as well as The Nottingham University Business School. Water bodies and wildlife are some of the outstanding features of this campus.
Medical School
The Medical School opened in 1970, and was the first to be established in the UK in the 20th century. Today it covers two campuses in Nottingham and Derby. Its Nottingham base is in the Queen's Medical Centre, a complex which also includes the 1,300-bed University Hospital. It is located close to University Park, across the busy A52, and the two campuses are linked by a pedestrian footbridge giving easy access to the University Park facilities.
Sutton Bonington
The Sutton Bonington Campus is 10 miles south of University Park on the border of Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. Its countryside location makes an ideal home for the School of Biosciences and the University's new School of Veterinary Medicine & Science. The 16-hectare campus is amply equipped with its own state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities, library, student residences, a sports centre, as well as essential amenities including a bank and a bookshop. The campus is just a 25 minute bus or car journey from the University Park Campus and a free shuttle-bus service runs between the two campuses regularly during the day.
Semenyih, Malaysia
The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus opened in September 2000 to become the first campus of a British University in Malaysia and one of the first anywhere in the world.
Occupying a scenic position overlooking green hills on a 101-acre site, and designed to mirror the attributes of University Park in the UK, the campus is a self-contained and self-sufficient neighbourhood village in a garden environment. It combines a high-quality living environment with state-of-the-art learning and teaching facilities. Facilities include a purpose-built sports centre, a students' association and shops.
Ningbo, China
The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China is the first Sino-Foreign University in China with approval from the Chinese Ministry of Education. Opened in 2006, it is located in Ningbo Higher Education Park on a newly built and dedicated campus.
