Admissions:
Bachelor degrees: 70 to 85 per cent in Year 12 examinations depending on the course applied for and the board studied with.
Master’s degrees: Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university (bachelor’s or first-class bachelor’s when awarded after three or more years of study from a recognised university).
PhD degree: A master’s degree.
New Route PhD: A good first degree (bachelor’s or 1st class bachelor’s degree when awarded after three years or more years of study from a recognised university).
MBA: bachelor’s degree and at least three years’ full-time post-graduation and relevant work experience.
Indian students who are not suitably qualified for the course they wish to pursue at the University can take up the Foundation programmes in their chosen subject. The Foundation programmes are available at the UK as well as overseas campuses. Students who successfully complete the Foundation Year at Nottingham are able to progress directly into year one of their chosen degree.
Scholarships:
The India Undergraduate High Achiever Scholarship offers three tuition fee scholarships of £2,000 for first year Indian students registering on undergraduate degree programmes at The University of Nottingham in September 2009. This is applicable to any subject area excluding Medicine and Veterinary Science.
The University of Nottingham also offers the Developing Solutions Scholarship program for postgraduate students. As part of this programme, 60 Tuition Fee Scholarships of 25 per cent each are available for new students registering on Taught Masters programmes (including MRes and Masters by Research programmes) at the University in September 2009 in the areas related to Environment, Food, Health and Technology (excluding Medicine or Veterinary Science). Applications should be submitted to the International Office by 1 May 2009.
Applications for the Developing Solutions Scholarship will also automatically be considered for one of the eight Commonwealth Shared Scholarships, which offer 100 per cent tuition fee and subsistence.
Many of the University’s scholarships offer partial funding and, where this is the case, students must ensure that they can arrange the outstanding amount required to cover their tuition fees and/or living expenses.
Under the Post Study Work Scheme, Indian undergraduate and postgraduate students who successfully complete their degree are able to stay and work in the UK for up to two years at the end of their studies.
