The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nottingham works closely with the industry to ensure their graduates have the skills and knowledge that employers really want. Some of its long-time industry partners include the Ford Motor Company, AstraZeneca, Rolls-Royce and Shell, apart from which the department maintains strong links with over 30 top companies.
These industry partners support student projects and laboratories, sponsor students and recruit their graduates. Additionally, many of the companies also offer students the opportunity to spend a year-out in industry or a summer placement.

All the degree courses offered by the Faculty are accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), providing a recognised route to becoming a Chartered Engineer. The Department offers all its undergraduate students free membership of the IET, enabling them to benefit from the additional resources of this internationally recognised professional body - including technology updates, local events and careers support.
