Student services
RMIT offers a wide range of services that reflect the needs of a diverse student body. Whether it’s spiritual, social or academic, the Institute has trained professionals available to provide assistance to students. For a full list of student services, click here.

New students are greeted at Melbourne airport and transported to their pre-arranged Melbourne accommodation, if they request for this service.

Clubs and societies
A wide variety of clubs provide a social setting for students to develop new skills and make new friends. Options include sporting and recreational facilities, including access to over 30 sporting clubs; Invitations to theatre productions, art exhibitions and free movies; excursions to regional Victoria, Central Australia and Queensland. International Student Information and Support (ISIS)
ISIS provides advice, information and support to international students. It offers a range of services such as:

  • confidential consultation and advice
  • support and information
  • orientation and farewell (returning home) programs
  • cultural celebrations
  • activities to meet other students from similar cultures
  • social gatherings, activities and workshops at the Melbourne campuses
ISIS also supports and works with student representative groups through programs such as the Mentors Assisting the Transition Experience (MATE) Program.

Work Integrated Learning (WIL)
Work placements or Co-op years are central to RMIT University’s policy of Work Integrated Learning and its delivery of industry-relevant education. Options range from short-term “professional practice” experience– where students work with an employer to conduct research or work on a specific project– to six or 12-month industry placements.
