Queensland University of Technology, Australia

Located on the east coast of Australia, in the state of Queensland, Brisbane is one of the world’s most liveable cities with a sub-tropical climate, friendly people, relaxed and safe lifestyle, and affordable cost of living.

Brisbane has become known as a hub for quality education. It continues to expand by significant investment in infrastructure driven by a commitment to build and maintain world-class educational facilities.  From 1998 to 2008, the State government alone contributed $3.4 billion to research and development, $536 million towards health and medical research and development infrastructure, skills and commercialisation initiatives.

Brisbane fosters one of the largest e-Security research communities in the southern hemisphere and is home to some of the world’s leading firms with significant investment by Boeing, Sun Microsoft, Oracle, IBM and Mincom. Also, Brisbane is unquestionably the hub of games development in Australia.

From the vibrant river city, you can explore what Queensland offers– stunning national parks, the Great Barrier Reef, and the world-famous beaches of the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast are only an hour away.

Gardens Point campus

QUT’s Gardens Point campus is the only city university campus with comprehensive facilities in the Brisbane central business district, situated next to the beautiful Botanic Gardens and the Brisbane River.  The inner-city location reinforces QUT’s links with business and industry while creating a dynamic environment for students.

Gardens Point campus has its own ferry stop for staff and students living close to the Brisbane River.  The Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campuses are linked by free shuttle buses, making inter-campus travel easy and cheap– no matter where your QUT course is based.

Faculties based at Gardens Point include Built Environment and Engineering, Business, Law, and Science and Technology.

Kelvin Grove campus

QUT’s Kelvin Grove campus is situated on a hilltop only two kilometres from the city centre.  The campus, with almost 11,000 students, is 10 minutes walk from the city and well serviced by public transport.

Kelvin Grove campus is home to the faculties of Health, Education, and Creative Industries, and QUT International College.

The campus also has two unique research institutes. QUT experts from science, bio-engineering, health and biotechnology are working on solving a range of global health issues in QUT’s Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI), while the Institute for Creative Industries and Innovation (iCi) is a global hub for excellence in research in creative industries and innovation systems.

The campus adjoins the award-winning Kelvin Grove Urban Village, developed jointly by QUT and the Queensland Government to create an integrated education, commercial and residential precinct. Students can easily walk to the city or University, and have access to brand new student accommodation and a range of facilities within a convenient and safe village atmosphere.
