La Trobe International College was established in 2007 when the La Trobe University Language Centre (est. 1974) merged with the Foundation Studies and Diplomas Unit (est. 1995). With over 34 years of English language teaching expertise, La Trobe International College offers the best possible integrated educational support and cultural experience to international students.

The programs offered at the college act as academic bridges for international students, leading them into degree studies. The courses help students to upgrade their present qualifications to the level required to enter bachelor’s degrees at La Trobe University. The qualifications are recognised internationally and lead students into highly successful global careers.

International students could either undertake a foundation studies program after completion of year 11 (or equivalent) or take a La Trobe Diploma which is a four semester course for exit year 11 (secondary) students or a three semester course for exit year 12 (post-secondary) students. The College also offers a number of English language programs.

La Trobe International College is an accredited training centre of the prestigious Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA). It is also accredited by a number of top industry bodies, including ISO 9001.

International students have access to comprehensive student support services, including accommodation services (on and off campus), free computer labs, student advisors and counsellors. They would also have access to La Trobe University facilities, student clubs and associations.

The College is based at the Bundoora (Melbourne) campus of the La Trobe University.
