Perth is a vibrant city that is well known for being friendly and relaxed while offering all the cosmopolitan attractions of a large international city. It has the fastest growing economy in Australia and is linked to every corner of the globe via extensive international air links and sophisticated telecommunications.
Perth offers students the freedom to choose their lifestyle- they can enjoy the great outdoors and adventure or just simply relax with friends; they can spend time on the beach or enjoy the city life. Students enjoy live music and theatre performance on campus.
Every year more than 20,000 new and returning international students choose Western Australia as their preferred study destination for diploma and degree courses in Australia. Australia is renowned for its multicultural society with 43 per cent of its population born off-shore. For this reason, overseas students have no problems fitting in and ECU’s teachers are well adjusted to teaching students from many different backgrounds.
ECU is a multi-campus university, with two metropolitan campuses in Joondalup and Mount Lawley, and a regional campus in Bunbury, a city approximately 200kms south of Perth.
Joondalup campus:
ECU's Joondalup campus is situated close to fast rail transport and Perth's major freeway. The purpose-built campus boasts state-of-the-art facilities including the Science and Health Building, a multi-million dollar recreation centre and an outdoor cinema during the summer months. On-campus residential accommodation is available in a student village, and private rental accommodation close to the campus. The campus forms part of a major education precinct, which includes West Coast TAFE and the Western Australian Police Academy.
Mount Lawley campus:
Only minutes away from Perth's CBD and serviced by convenient public transport, ECU's Mount Lawley campus is an excellent choice for study. Extensive teaching recourses, first-rate study facilities, a new gym and sports centre and on-campus residential accommodation are available. The Mount Lawley campus is also home to one of Australia's most successful arts training institutions, the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).
The leafy gardens and modern buildings of the Mt Lawley campus, one of the busiest ECU campuses, add to its appeal as a learning environment. The campus is close to Perth city centre (five kms) and is easily accessible by public transport.
South West Campus (Bunbury):
Located a two-hour drive south of Perth and in Western Australia's largest city, ECU's South West Campus (Bunbury) is the largest university campus outside the metropolitan area. The campus is part of an education precinct comprising of the South West Regional College of TAFE and the Bunbury Health Campus, which includes St John of God Hospital and South West Area Health Services. The campus has modern facilities, small class sizes, offers a comprehensive range of courses and has newly built on-campus residential accommodation.
A modern public transport system ensures that travelling between the three metropolitan campuses and the Perth CBD takes no more than 45 mins.
