ANU College (ANUC) is the English language and academic pathway provider for The Australian National University. The College has a high success rate with an average of approximately 85-90% of Foundation students successfully entering Undergraduate study at the ANU. ANUC is accredited by NEAS (National ELICOS Accreditation Scheme), which ensures high standards and best practices. It is also a member of English Australia (EA) and the University English Centres Australia (UECA).
ANUC is housed in a modern and well-positioned building on the University campus. Students have access to various facilities at ANUC, including a computer wireless network operating throughout the College.
ANU College Programs:
ANU College offers a range of English language and pathway programs to the ANU, such as:
- General English / English for Academic Purposes: This course focuses on the general English skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. These skills enable students to function well in an English speaking environment and provide English skills for work and travel. The Tuition fee is AU$1750.00 per five week module for 2009, and AU$1850.00 per five week module for 2010.
- English for Academic Purposes– Pathway (EAP – P): EAP-P offers academic skills in English language together with study skills essential in an Australian academic environment: for example, critical thinking, note-taking, giving presentations, conducting basic research and tutorial participation. The course is designed to allow successful students a direct entry pathway into the ANU College Foundation Studies program and subsequently into undergraduate studies at The Australian National University. The Tuition fee is AU$5250.00 per 15 week program for 2009, and AU$6000.00 per 15 week program for 2010.
- Access English Preparation- This course helps students improve their general proficiency in using English in academic settings and to develop the study skills needed for university studies. The 12-week course is the recommended pathway program into the ANU Access English program at ANU College. The Tuition fee is AU$5520.00 for 2009, and AU$6000.00 for 2010.
- ANU Access English- The program helps students improve their general proficiency in using English in academic settings and to develop the study skills needed for university studies. The 10-week program runs twice a year and is designed for students to complete their English program in time to begin their undergraduate or postgraduate studies at The Australian National University. The Tuition fee is AU$4600.00 per 10 week program for 2009, and AU$5000.00 per 10 week program for 2010.
- ANU College Foundation Studies Program- The subjects on offer within the Foundation Studies program have been specially designed to provide students with the appropriate academic preparation for their intended ANU degree. ANU College entry requirement: Students must be at least 17 years old before they commence their studies at ANU College.
ANU entry requirement: Entry to the ANU is based on successful completion of the Foundation Studies program with a grade of at least 60% in Academic English and 65% in Advanced Academic English.
