Yes I am very much enjoying my University life here. Uni life is fun and coupled with a great educational experience - probaly one of the best. There are many courses at Univeristy of Adelaide. So the most important advice i would give to a student now in this recession affected job market is that to choose a course which would maximise their chances of getting a job here or anywhere else in the world. Do not choose a course out of sheer emotion and excitement but to research well on the course that they are choosing and then apply.
Selection process and gaining admission
I went through a rather lengthy admission process.I applied through an educational agent in my city. The selection process was fine. But the information supplied by the educational agent there wasnt good at all. the only tip that i would give is to apply directly to the University by getting in touch with it and not to go through any agent. Obtaining a visa was a bit difficult due to all the paperworks that was required.
No funding or scholarship opportunities were available to me.
My course is International Business. It consists of many units. the best bits are finance and marketing units in my course. The assignnmnets and the presentations are fun doing. I study about 35 hours each week including the lectures and tutorials.Lecturers and Tutors are very well informedand informative as well. They are very good. Yes i do recieve the study support i need. Yes my course is value for my money.
The University facilities are excellent. The library has a vast variety of useful recources. The Uni Bar is also very good. And some of the lecture theatres are just fantastic.Adelaide is a very quiet city and I like it here. It is perfectly suited for a student life. Yes my fellow students and local people here are very friendly. I live in a share unit with my friends. Its very good. Finding part time work is very difficult here. Student Union is very good. It is very active and supportive as well. There are lots of societies and clubs in the Uni. No I am not a member of any club or society.
Yes my job prospects have increased manifolds as result of my stuies here. Austrlain degrees are recognised worldwide and that too from one of the Group Of 8 Universities is hightly regarded worldwide. Yes I will be keeping in touch with my fellow Alumni after i leave. Yes there is the University of Adelaide Alumni association to join.
