The university is an excellent place and provides a great environment to study.
Selection process and gaining admission
No exams were needed. Selection was via a simple telephonic interview. The visa interview was simple and hassle-free. Tickets were not an issue. I flew via British Airways. Fare was higher than other airlines but the service was very good. No student fares were offered. Destination airport was BWI. It is the closest to the institute. Baggage rules were 2 bags x 20kg. There were no immigration issues.
It was an average experience since the software project was kind of low key. The supervisors were very kind and helpful. Access to sports facilities was not available but the library was accessible.
I lived with RP alumni who are pursuing their doctorates s at the same institute. General social scene was fine. Lots of Indian students study in this university. Weather was pretty good rising to mid 30 degree Celsius during peak summer.
