Overall its a good university and city to be in. My advice to aspiring students is to have a clear idea as to what they want after the course as in these troubled times, expecting a good job just on graduation is not possible. A bit of struggle will be required.
Selection process and gaining admission
There were no entrance exams. We had to fill out an online application which asks for a lot of information and one or two essays. You need a visa. The visa process will be pretty simple if you are traveling for PhD. Its easy to get tickets online. I used AirIndia and its good. They allow an extra baggage. Ticket cost around 40k. No immigration issues. And no meet and greet.
The university is really good. Profs and Classrooms are good. You have all the facilities needed (sports, library, etc).
I stay in a rented apartment. They don't provide university accommodation to graduate students. Weather during summer is good. Winter is not so great. I have no idea about part time jobs. There is an International society. They celebrate all festivals and have regular meetings.
I have no idea. But I expect it to be really good.
