My advice to aspiring students is to have a clear idea as to what they want after the course as in these troubled times, expecting a good job just on graduation is not possible. A bit of struggle will be required.
Selection process and gaining admission
I gave the IELTS which I gave without coaching although I browsed through the material which was provided by those who were conducting the test. I did need a visa for which I took help of a reputed Education counselor in Delhi. It was easy for tickets to be booked, came via London-Heathrow to Glasgow by Air India and BA. I was met by the meet and greet team even though it was a Sunday evening I arrived on the airport. The University is about a 20 minute drive from the airport here. I had no issues related to baggage as I was traveling within the limits allocated by the flight carrier.
I am absolutely happy and satisfied with the course structure of my masters program and with the experience and knowledge of my professors. We have a dedicated lecture theatre for the program we are doing equipped with all the equipment necessary for a good learning experience.
I am living in a student accommodation provided by the University. Glasgow is a picturesque and scenic city with many attractions in and around the city, in fact it can be said to be the gateway to Scotland! Weather, like all places throughout the UK is unpredictable. There is an International student society in the University and has been active in providing us students with all help and support needed. Cultural programs and lunches have been organized and trips to nearby places are also arranged by them.
There is a placement cell which informs students about upcoming events and fairs related to careers. Not very easy for international students to land up jobs. There is an alumni society which is active and has helped us with obtaining internships which are a part of my course here.
