I would say, Never miss the chance to study at University of Sheffield, it’s got the Class!! The program was worth the tuition fee and my professors were at their best!

I sought admission to the university by spot admission. I did take up Toefl exam. I did not take up any coaching for them, as it was pretty simple. I approached Study Overseas Ltd, Chennai. I did require a visa. I didn’t have to go through a visa interview. The counselors helped with all the documents to be submitted. I flew by British airways. It was excellent! It wasn’t a student fare, though I was given a student waiver for the luggage. I landed at Manchester airport and the university representatives (meet and greet) received us and took us to the university. The baggage was 2*20 + 8kgs hand luggage. I did not face immigration issues.

The program was worth the tuition fee. My professors were at their best! Lecture halls were spacious and well equipped. Library was good.

I lived in university accommodation. There were like separate apartments with a shared kitchen for 5 people. I did not look for part time jobs whilst studying. I guess the university has good facility for the part time jobs search. My town had only students mostly. Night life was the best in Sheffield. It is pretty cold, but bearable. Yes there is an international student society, they organized al the cultural events for important Indian festivals.

There were no placement cells; it’s not very easy for an international student to find a job right after finishing the course. But some students are lucky enough of getting a job, in spite of low grades. Luck matters! I did not apply for a work permit as I relocated.
