Over all that was gud and bad experience to stay and study in London. The program is good enough that I spent 20,000 pounds on my IIM. All the law firms do not have jobs in uk till 2010, I want to ask do we wait till that time, who will pay the interest on our bank loans. Its better to start practice in your own country. Better you start your career in your country.
Selection process and gaining admission
I didn’t attend any classes to gain admission in KCL, I need student visa of UK, but didn’t give visa interview, it was easy to get tickets for flights, I flew in BA, air hostess were good looking in BA and food was good, but they didn’t offer student fare. I landed at Heathrow, KCL is only 1 hour, from airport. Baggage was one hand bag and one laptop bag in addition to it, and the limit was 30 kg. I faced immigration issues, I didn’t find the crew at immigration well behaved, they behaved like I am illegal immigrant or I am from Taliban. Kings college don’t do pickups, it has lots of attitude.
I didn’t get any kind of scholarship or relief from college.
The program is good enough that I spent 20,000 pounds on my llm, professors were pretty helpful except one professor who said India is a poor country and I never been there and I don’t want be there, I thought India do not deserve this great professor.
I am living in heritage of Kings college 1800 old building with cracks in walls and ceilings, once I found water drops from the roof that was good experience, I found myself removing things from that part of my room, I do live in college accommodation. Its almost impossible to do a job in one year masters of law either you do part time to survive or concentrate on your studies to handle the exams which were suppose to be 2 months later. Social scene is good specially in last month lots of girls in small clothes in park in my backyards having sunbathing, bars pubs and discos are over populated, London is dead city 24 hours, 12 months, its like I am living in some where on lonely planet, specially the winters break was depressing, you just look at the window, talk to the birds outside, feed to the foxes, look at Google talk is there some online that I can talk to someone, and look passers by the archbishop park from my rooms window. Weather is good, it was great experience when you handle lots of things at the same time, hold umbrella in one hand, hold your all milk juice n all in one hand, and rains starts, and the best part is when my plastic bag was burst and I was collecting all tomatoes and onions in the middle of the road after stopping all the traffic. I really enjoyed the snow fall, in the month of march, that was shocking not surprising to have snow fall in the month of march in London. Yes there is international society in my college but I never been there, they only send you lots of drinks party invitation every day n face book that is hard to handle all of them even by hardcore drunker . I would advice put that much of money in bank and you will be benefited.
Its is almost impossible to get a job here ,till 2010 there is no job in uk law firms, there is no placement cell in my college, yes there was lots of career events but that was good experience to get the same answer from every law firm desk in a law fair, sorry we do not have job till 2010, I said what are you doing in law fair, go back to your law firm office, all they do is they offer free pen and free coffee mug that some of my friends really love to get free of cost. It is completely useless waste of money and waste of time to do llm in uk. I really don’t know is there any alumni.
