I enjoyed my university experience a lot. It was good to be in a multicultural environment and meet different people. My advice for students is that the admission criteria are very high so you have to be very good to get in.
Selection process and gaining admission
Overall the admission process was simple. I applied directly to the university and it was a simple and easy process. Being a local student, I didn?t need a visa.
I was completely funded by the Australian government.
My course was very good. I finished it in 3 years. I enjoyed doing research but had to study for 40 hrs a week. We hardly had research as we were PhD students but we had research supervision and it was good. I got a chance to involve with only one or two professors and they were very good. They were very supportive and we were offered support whenever need. My course was a value for money.
The facilities I received were 24hrs internet access, library and these were the ones which I needed the most. I like Melbourne as it is very multicultural and the weather is good. We had local and international students and they were all friendly. My accommodation was good but expensive. I was in the student union for two years and the student union provided free movie tickets, bbq, lunch etc and it was fun. I however did not join any clubs.
I am now employed at RMIT so my course really helped me to get a job. I am in contact with my friends .
