The program views development, refinement, and integration of clinical skills in a variety of areas as one central task of internship. Interns start internship with a foundation of didactic information and clinical skills from their academic training. Internship provides an intensive opportunity to develop new skills (e.g., career counseling, providing supervision) and to apply familiar skills in increasingly sophisticated ways. At the end of internship, CCSD expects interns to demonstrate competencies in individual and group therapy, outreach, consultation, multicultural issues, supervision, and ethical issues.

This program is designed for individuals with an earned baccalaureate degree who wish to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). This program is designed for students enrolled in the AA Program in Georgetown who have an interest in the field of elementary education. This degree represents the first two years of the Elementary Teacher Education program. Upon successful completion of this degree and passing the Praxis I exam, students wishing to complete their BSED degree may apply for admission to the UD/Milford Professional Development School located at 310 Lovers Lane, Milford, DE 19963 or transfer to the ETE program in Newark.
Associate in Science - Agriculture

This degree is ideal for students interested in agriculture who desire to spend only two years working toward a degree or who are unsure of their plans for higher education. The Associate in Science offers an extremely flexible curriculum. The student must complete a minimum of 62 credit hours, with at least 30 of the credits earned within at least four of the five departments in the college.
B.S.Ed in Elementary Teacher Education

This program is a nationally accredited program where students earn an elementary education (Delaware K-6) teaching certificate and a second teaching certificate in one of the five following areas: middle school English, middle school math, middle school science, middle school social studies, and special education (Delaware K-12). The coursework in the ETE program enables students to learn the content knowledge, how to teach this content, and the pedagogical skills to be an effective classroom teacher, and it can be divided into three areas. The General Studies area includes courses in the following subject areas: natural sciences, mathematics, social sciences, English/linguistics, and fine arts. The Professional Studies area is designed to develop the candidate's teaching skills. The courses place strong emphasis on the development of teachers who can plan and implement appropriate educational experiences for children of varying levels of ability. The Second Certification area provides the teacher candidate with an opportunity to select one of the following areas for a middle school licensure: English, general science, mathematics, or social studies. The candidate can also choose special education instead of a middle school area.

This program has the same requirements for both university and major requirements but differs in the dual certification in Special Education (taken by the students) and discipline area requirements are selected for an integrated discipline area rather than a single discipline area. This program also includes more K-6 school-based requirements that are designed in cooperation with the Milford School District. All requirements for this program may be met at the University of Delaware campus in Georgetown and the Milford Professional Development School located on the grounds of the Milford School District.

Courses are enriched by visits to museums and special exhibits in neighboring cultural centers, by films, and by local field inquiry.

In this program the majors are advised by full-time faculty members in the department. Freshman are assigned to an advisor for their four years at Delaware and are advised to stay in close contact for general academic information and advice. Students should schedule appointments with an advisor at least twice a year for help in planning a curriculum. Advisers also offer office hours for students to drop by to discuss academic problems or plans for the future, such as jobs or graduate school. In addition, advisers assist students interested in museum work in finding credited internships or curatorial apprenticeships after their freshman year.

This is a multidisciplinary program with basic course and program content in the social sciences and humanities. BAMS offers a 31-credit Major and 18-credit Minor. The BAMS curriculum surveys the historic, cultural, and social phenomena of people of African descent in America and throughout the Diaspora, and provides students with individualized, in-depth learning experiences. In addition to the Major, students take Black American Studies courses to fulfill general university requirements. The curriculum is rigorous, meets general education goals, and will prepare a student to successfully enter a variety of post graduate training or work careers.

This program makes the graduates to be eligible to teach, Chemistry Education students must have a GPA of 2.75 in their chemistry major and an overall GPA of 2.5. They must also pass a teacher competency test as established by the University Council on Teacher Education. This program is designed around two central goals: increasing knowledge about communication processes and their impact on society, and developing communication skills and competencies. In pursuing these goals, the Department of Communication has adopted a social and behavioral science orientation toward the study of human communication. All majors study communication in a wide variety of contexts, including interpersonal and mass communication in both mediated and face-toface settings. A broad spectrum of classes enables students to critically analyze communication as well as recognize their own ethical responsibilities to self and community. The communication faculty is also committed to turning theory into effective skills for speaking, critical thinking, writing, and media production so that academic knowledge and experience extend beyond the classroom into future opportunities for students. Students enter this major as communication interest majors. A 2.0 overall GPA is required to declare the communication interest major. Communication interest majors must complete the four core courses: COMM 245, 256, 301 and 330. Based on their GPA in these four courses, the top 100 students will annually be allowed to matriculate into the communication major.

The aim of the program in comparative literature is to allow students to study literature in an international and intercultural relationship, across boundaries of nation and language. Comparative literature embraces the study of literary themes, forms, movements and relations, as well as the interrelations of literature and other disciplines. The program offers the student the opportunity, with the aid of an advisor, to construct a program reflecting individual areas of interest. Students majoring or minoring in comparative literature must have a command of at least one foreign language at the advanced elective level. It is strongly recommended that majors pursue a second foreign language at least through the intermediate level. Students planning to go on to graduate work in comparative literature would be well advised to include work in a classical language in their program.

This program is a more flexible liberal arts program, especially good for student?s double- or triple- majoring, or students who desire a technical undergrad degree before attempting a professional degree (law, medical, business). A degree in computer science opens the door to careers in programming, data processing, systems development, and marketing in a variety of industries and businesses. Some students go on to graduate study in top graduate programs. For example, recent graduates are currently pursuing graduate work at Cornell, Princeton, and Waterloo. Delaware graduates obtain jobs with major computer manufacturers and software development firms such as IBM, Microsoft, and SUN, and major corporations such as DuPont and MBNA.
