Course description Students in the Doctor of Philosophy in Childhood Studies degree program enroll in a core set of courses in order to acquire the interdisciplinary, theoretical, and methodological knowledge that is at the heart of childhood studies. This interdisciplinary coursework is the foundation for a series of investigations culminating in the dissertation through which students develop their expertise as scholars in Childhood Studies.

Entry requirementsA master degree is required for Ph.D. A bachelor degree is required for Masters for admission. Admission to the Ph.D. Program is based on a combination of undergraduate (and graduate, if applicable) transcripts with a minimum 3.2 GPA.The minimum TOEFL score is 213 (computer version) and 550 (paper version). The new TOEFL internet version minimum scores are as follows: Writing: 22, Speaking: 23, Reading: 21, and Listening: 17. The completion of a master's degree in the United States is not grounds for waiving test results. A Band 7 or higher score is required for the IELTS. Some programs may have higher standards. The TOEFL or IELTS score may be no more than two years old.
Application details All applications require a non-refundable application fee of $60. Two copies of the Statement of Purpose with completed coversheets. A 500-word Academic Statement of Purpose should be prepared and submitted with the application. Applicants for admission must provide two hard copies of official transcripts. Transcripts should be submitted to the Graduate School in an envelope which is university issued and sealed by university's Registrar's office (or equivalent office), requested from the appropriate Registrar, and included unopened in self-assembled application packet for mailing. Three official recommendations are required by the Graduate School. Original Financial Documents( original bank statement).
