Course description This program is designed to prepare students to use technology to improve health care quality and lower health care costs. Course work covers such topics as electronic information system management, information security, data integrity, and regulatory compliance. People who choose this specialization are often pursuing information technology specialist positions in hospitals, clinics, and health care systems.
Entry requirementsApplicant should be a high school diploma or equivalent from an internationally recognized institution and must be at least 24 years old. They are expected to read, speak, write, and understand the English language fluently and whose language of instruction is not English are required to take one of the following tests: the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB), or International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The only exception to this requirement is reserved for learners who have earned a postsecondary degree from a U.S. accredited university. The minimum acceptable TOEFL scores is 550 for the paper-based test, 213 for the computer-based test with a score of 4.0 or higher on the Test of Written English (TWE), or a score of 79 for those completing the Internet-based examination. The minimum acceptable MELAB score is 80, and the minimum acceptable score for the IELTS is 6.5.
Application details Applicants must complete the admission application and submit an official transcript for the highest degree conferred, as well as any post-degree course work. They should submit resume, statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, and/or other relevant material may also be considered for applicants who do not meet minimum admission standards.
