Course description This program will provide professional development for the following student cohorts: Canadian Community College Diploma students and Practising teachers from the Solomon Islands. Students will receive up to 160CP of advanced standing (credit) and a minimum of 80CP must be completed at Griffith University. This program is only available to International students from the Solomon Islands or Canada.
Entry requirementsStudents from the Canadian Community College students must have completed a Canadian community college diploma from a recognised Canadian college (or equivalent). Whereas the Solomon Islands College of Higher Education students must have completed a recognised teacher preparation program from the Solomon Islands College of Higher Education (SICHE) with five to ten years of teaching experience in their home country and successful completion of the Solomon Islands Teacher Upgrading Project (SITUP). They must also satisfy the following English language requirements: TOEFL a minimum score of 550 or a computerised TOEFL score of 213 or an internet-based score of 79 (no score less than 19) or IELTS a minimum overall band score of 6.0 with no sub-score of less than 5.5 or ISLPR score not less than 3 in each skill. English test results must not be more than two years old.
Application details Students currently studying Year 12 in Queensland should apply through Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre Twelve-to-Tertiary on-line application service. Applicants currently studying an Australian Year 12 qualification (either in Australia or off-shore) or an International Baccalaureate in Australia or a New Zealand National Certificate of Education Achievement Level 3 should apply through Universities Admissions Centre Apply-by-Web service. All other International students applying from within or outside Australia on the basis of other than Australian Year 12 qualifications should apply directly to Griffith International.
