Course description This program prepares students for a career as an educator and trainer in industry, TAFE, post-compulsory schooling or adult and community education. Students will be required to undertake teaching practice in a vocational education, training or workplace setting as part of the program. This degree can lead to teacher registration in Queensland. Students will develop an understanding of the key concepts and values underlying adult and vocational education, communication and change, teaching and learning and also curriculum development. The introductory themes are expanded into three majors. They may elect to complete more than one major as part of their degree. The majors include: adult and vocational teaching, adult literacy and numeracy, human resource development and vocational education and training in schools.

Entry requirementsStudents must have completed Year 12 of secondary school or equivalent academic achievement. They must also satisfy the following English language requirements: TOEFL a minimum score of 550 or a computerised TOEFL score of 213 or an internet-based score of 79 (no score less than 19) or IELTS a minimum overall band score of 6.0 with no sub-score of less than 5.5 or ISLPR score not less than 3 in each skill. English test results must not be more than two years old.

Applicants currently studying an Australian Year 12 qualification (either in Australia or off-shore) or an International Baccalaureate in Australia or a New Zealand National Certificate of Education Achievement Level 3 should apply through Universities Admissions Centre Apply-by-Web service. All other International students applying from within or outside Australia on the basis of other than Australian Year 12 qualifications should apply directly to Griffith International.
